Open level vinyasa with Malika
vinyasa open level is a contemporary yoga practice for everyone. classes are based on the basic principle whereby the movement of the body is consciously linked to the movement of the breath and felt to be the same movement - breath is movement. moving at a steady pace you will progress through different postures while feeling supported in listening to your own needs moment to moment.
Yin with Tony
yin yoga is a quiet meditative practice, combining long held static floor postures with breath work. yin yoga slowly stresses the deeper tissues of the body like our ligaments, joints, deep fascial networks and also our bones. mainly focusing on the areas of the body where the fascia is more dense, like the pelvis, the hips and the lower back. these tissues react well to long held static stress , which help to keep them healthy and strong, improve our range of motion and ultimately help to decompress the joints. the practice of yin yoga is perfect to find that balance in this yang culture we live in, and is a perfect accompaniment to an active yoga practice or any yang exercise like a gym workout.
Practicing the principles of yoga with Malika
the focus of this class is to embody the profound principles of practice as taught by krishnamacharya, the ‘teacher of teachers’ to make yoga entirely your own - efficient, pleasurable, powerful, and safe. embodying these principles is to engage a direct relationship with life. yoga is to participate in life as it is. your yoga brings all the opposites of your life into profound union. by merging the inhale with exhale, strength to receptivity, above to below you will experience the profound polarities of your heart and the pleasure principle of life. this is hathayoga, the union of “sun and moon” in which the heart, the whole is realised. it is making love with life itself. this class is recommended for everyone no matter what your yoga background or experience is.
